Peter Folger of the American Geophysics Union will kick off our next meeting with the following presentation:

What are a scientist's responsibilities? Can the public tell the difference between a scientist and a pseudoscientist, if they have on similar hats?

Peter Folger is Director of the Outreach department for the American Geophysical Union, an international scientific society of Earth and space scientists with over 45,000 members headquartered in Washington, D.C. Folger tries to keep AGU members informed of events on Capitol Hill that impact the geophysical sciences, and members of Congress informed of geophysical events that impact their constituents.
